Greg Lindberg Discusses the Effects of Exercise During Fasting on Canadian Podcast

Orlando, Florida (September 5, 2023)Greg Lindberg, entrepreneur, philanthropist and author, was invited last week on Canadian podcast and radio show The Tonic to discuss the impact of exercise during fasting.

During the 20-minute conversation with host Jamie Bussin, Lindberg discussed the science behind exercise during fasting and how the body responds to physical activity when it stops eating.

To get the benefits of fasting, you have to move the body from a glucose metabolism to a triglyceride metabolism where you’re actually burning your body’s fat,” shares Lindberg during the podcast. “It takes about two days to get the glucose metabolism all the way to the triglyceride metabolism. This process allows all the cascades of genes to get released, which in turn they can repair and rejuvenate your body.”

During the interview, Lindberg said that combining exercise with fasting can help reverse the aging process and keep people stay younger longer. Lindberg, who has been fasting and exercising for years, shared that both activities together can help maximize results. It’s also important to keep your body guessing by changing exercises each day.

To continually see improvement and results, gradually increase workout intensity and duration to challenge the body and avoid plateauing,” said Lindberg. “You have to do different physical activities each day such as cardio, weightlifting, swimming, walking, running or yoga. This is when your body can start gaining strength, build muscle and feel much healthier physically, mentally and spiritually.”

During the podcast, Lindberg also shared his workout activities and how he continues to remain committed to exercise during his fasting routine. “I initially started exercising 20 to 30 minutes per day, but slowly increased intensity to 90 minutes per day,” said Lindberg. “The combination of intense exercise with fasting helps me feel stronger and healthier.”
